In line with its core purpose of educating the youth of Myanmar to take their productive places as leaders in the global community, EBS University Co., Ltd. “UniEBS”
(Reg No. 3561) strives to make education more easily accessible to all layers of society.
From its CSR programme, “UniEBS” member company “PWMC” has an agreement known as Education Collaboration Agreement “ECA” with the Government of Myanmar in which Government officials can attend subsidised modular MBA courses. “UniEBS” also plans to provide education for rural communities by setting up a free Education Broadband Service “EBS” to participating schools. All participating schools, thus providing students with the academic materials to further their education they could not otherwise afford.
English is a premier language of business and the professions, and the only global language of science, research, academic publishing and producing these reports. In emerging countries like Myanmar, most of the students are weak in their command of English in order to produce dissertations, quality papers and sitting exams in advanced English. “UniEBS” addresses this matters by securing the special license and approval to conduct the course including preparation of dissertation in their native language through bilingual rights.
The success of the “UniEBS” Project will bring greater contribution in education not only in Myanmar, but can also be implemented globally.
“UniEBS’s” priorities to achieve these outcomes are provided in its Business Strategy as:
Boosting access of education of rural communities
Growing international linkages of Preferred Network of Universities “PNU’s” to create a path for graduates to go abroad.
Strengthening present local school’s internet connectivity
Delivering vocational skills for industry
Incubating Ontario Secondary School Diploma “OSSD” based curriculum
Introduction of Education Broadband Service “EBS”
Education Collaboration Agreement “ECA”
“UniEBS” uses three high-level outcomes to benchmark the education group’s progress against its goals:
An increased proportion of the population with a tertiary qualification
Higher-quality and more relevant teaching and learning methods for middle & secondary schools.
An education system that is more responsive to the needs of employers and students.
